The Cultivating Individuality and Crafting Excellence Award for March was given to Pastor Roger McCune in recognition of his commitment to Thorp School! His enduring support of Thorp School as well as the entire Thorp Community is commendable. He shows up early every Monday morning to pray for our students, staff and administration. Through this prayer time he inquires about the needs of the students and staff and how he can support them. His commitment to making sure all Thorp students have enough food has been felt for many years. He has worked with various Thorp counselors over the years to identify any students that need additional food to make it through the weekend, and we know we can count on him to fill the gap. He has gone to Upper County weekly to pick up food donations and bring them to the school to help meet the basic needs of our students. As a local pastor, he has used his position in the community to cultivate individuality and craft excellence!  Thank you Pastor Roger!

CASHLESS Payments only at Field Trips
Last week students aged preschool through fifth grade participated in our annual walk-a-thon to raise money for our Elementary ASB! Students were able to go out for their morning and afternoon recesses and rack up laps on the track and Nature Trail! Our elementary kiddos walked/ran a total of 1,119 laps equivalent to just shy of 280 miles 🙌🏻👏🏻 Tatum Tonseth ran the most overall with a whopping 17 laps! 🎉 The funds raised by our walk-a-thon goes to our Elementary ASB to help pay for field experiences, special assemblies, playground equipment, field day, guest appearances, community/school projects, community events, and so much more! Help us congratulate these hard workers below and if you want to sponsor a kiddo for their hard work, contact Ms. Willette at willetteb@thorpschools.org!

Elementary students have been enjoying the newly marked area where they can play soccer and flag football. Students play by the school rules for these games while Paraprofessionals supervise. You can find the rules on our website at https://www.thorpschools.org/documents/students/student-handbooks/545364.

The 80th Thorp Annual Auction was a tremendous success. ASB, FBLA and FFA students spent the months of January and February collecting donations and organizing for a fun-filled night on March 6. Students went all out with a spaghetti dinner, a dessert auction, 50/50 raffle and a live auction with Auctioneer Eric Burvee. There were a record number of attendees and proceeds hit an all-time high of over $15,000! The money will be used for attendance at state conferences and other learning experiences. Thank you for being such a supportive community! We couldn't do this without you!!
