The Dream, Build, Achieve Award for January was awarded to Garrett Rhodes in recognition of his dedicated work as the Technology Coordinator at Thorp Schools. We appreciate the important role he plays in keeping our technology running smoothly. He strengthens the Securly program to help keep our students safe. He carefully researches every piece of technology before making purchases. He helped us learn to use AI in useful ways. His teamwork on the safety committee, along with his willingness to serve as its chair, has made the group stronger and more effective. Garrett always places the safety of students and staff first and encourages others to do the same. As a small school district, we value his readiness to take on so many different technology needs. Most of all, we are grateful for his patience, kindness, and willingness to help others understand technology. We appreciate Garrett for all the ways he has strengthened our Thorp community.

"The more things that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."

Thank you Mrs. Hoffman!

Thorp School District conducted a Secure and Teach drill this afternoon. Our students and staff did a wonderful job securing our campus in an efficient manner!
When these kiddos heard that a staff member's father recently lost his vision, they jumped into action.
In the words of Mrs. Wirtz, "As someone who has always loved to cook, he had been struggling to identify his spices with the recent vision loss. With the help of Mr. Ellsworth and Garrett, Cameron and Aio used the design programs they’ve been learning in class to create 3D printed tactile labels for a set of spice jars.
They truly went above and beyond, researching Braille standards to ensure the spacing and sizing was accurate. The finished product turned out SO cool!"

Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day! ➖💙➖
We are incredibly thankful for all of our community law enforcement officers and would like to take a moment to give a special shout out to our amazing School Resource Officer Deputy Jen! Thank you for all that you do.

Our Thorp Tigers Boys Basketball team show up! They have heart and so much grit. They spent 2 days of their winter break to travel 4 hours, play a game, sleep on the gym floor, and play another game! They had fun touring a local museum and hanging out at the ocean at Washaway Beach. They fought hard, kept a good attitude, and showed sportsmanship and honor. They were kind, grateful, funny and selfless. We’re so proud of these boys!
