A huge congratulations to our very own, Jessica Hoff, for receiving the high honor of: Citizen Educator of the Year! This is what our community partners from Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife had to say:   "Jessica is an enthusiastic and engaged educator who has frequently reached out to Habitat Program staff over the past year. Jessica has developed lessons and taught her elementary students about roads and their impact on wildlife connectivity, habitat fragmentation, the importance of urban planning, and why native plants are an important part of our landscape. She is also heavily involved in Thorp School’s outdoor garden classroom, which includes a nursery, a fruits and veggie garden, a pollinator garden, and a nature trail. Jessica has welcomed Region 3 Habitat Program staff into her classroom as guest speakers, and has sought feedback on ways to further improve her high-quality lesson plans.        Jessica’s dedication and passion for outdoor education is inspirational. The young students that she teaches are lucky to have such a passionate educator who sees the value in nature-based education, and takes the time to connect her lessons to the natural world directly surrounding the school. Her hands-on approach to teaching has resulted in engaged students who not only look forward to their outdoor education time, but also are developing a deep-rooted appreciation for natural resources which will last throughout their lives." We are blessed by Mrs. Hoff's presence and impact on our students and staff! Congratulations Mrs. Hoff!

Today at 1:37 PM, Thorp Schools successfully conducted a fire drill in collaboration with representatives from KCFD 1 and the KCSO. We are pleased that all students and staff evacuated calmly and in an orderly manner.🚨🚨 We appreciate your support in fostering a safe and prepared learning environment for our students.

PUGET SOUND ENERGY Wildfire Prevention, Preparedness, & Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) Puget Sound Energy will be sharing information on prevention efforts for the wildfire season, and how public feedback was incorporated into PSE’s Wildfire Mitigation Program and Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Plan.
