New this year is instead of the Food Pyramid is the Food Plate with 1/2 the food groups being fruit and veggies.
The new food guidelines that will prospectively take effect in the 2012-2013 school year will require the school districts to offer more fruit and veggies along with whole grain items. So in anticipation of this you will see more fruits, vegetables and whole grain items offered on the menu. We will strive to post more information on the site as available.
